A healthy scalp is essential for healthy hair for Black Hair Care. The condition of the scalp and hair are associated with the overall health of the body. Optimum health is dependent upon excellent nutrition and other factors.
I will recommend an extensive program to improve your  hair. Its all in Your Mind, and healing always starts in the mind. A healthy lifestyle will mean healthier hair for you. Excessive stress, smoking, not exercising and not eating nutritiously are not healthy for your hair.
The following are some black hair care tips that you can use to improve the health and look of your hair.
Drink plenty of water at least 8 glasses a day.
Get enough sleep.
Take Supplements such as Omega 3 containing DHA,
Kelp, Botin and Folic Acid.
Use a silk scarf or pillowcase while sleeping.
Get a trim every 6 to 8 weeks.
Make your hair color last by only using color safe products.
Use a leave in conditioner, it will hydrate and protect your hair. A leave in conditioner on your hair is the equivalent of moisturizer on your face.
Use a soft boar hairbrush on your hair daily which will distribute the oil at the root of your hair and scalp to the rest of your hair.
To avoid all hair care disasters, follow these  absolute-don't s of great hair care.
Avoid using heat styling tools.
Avoid unprofessional and over-the-counter hair care products whenever you can. Many of these only offer false hopes and promises.
Do not use a no-lye relaxer it can cause severe damage and dryness to the hair.
Do not cut you own bangs. Leave all of your cutting needs, to your hair care professional.
Avoid excessive sun, chlorine and salt water during the summer months. Excessive exposure can cause severe damage that is irreversible even if you use the best hair care products.
Do not use clarifying hair care products on your tresses more than one time per week. They can strip hair of moisture and essential oils.
Do not keep weaves or braids in for extended periods of time.
Do not purchase hair color that comes in a box.
Do not use thermal styling tools everyday.
Don't brush your hair or put too much tension on it while it is still wet. This will cause breakage.
Avoid hair products that contain alcohol which dry out your hair this includes some oil sheen and moisture creams.
Never stick with an outdated look because you are afraid of looking different. Styles change for a reason. Ask your hair care professional to bring you into this decade with a new style.
In the end, hair care is a very individualized and personal thing. Feel free to add your own flair and style to your hair care routine, but remember to include hair care principles that will benefit your hair and avoid those that damage it.
